I am personally encountering many individuals who boast they can design a website, but don’t know any code or very little about web standards. Don’t let web design or management companies fool you – they may boast fancy applications, animations and videos that come with high production costs but this may cause slow speeds and errors on certain browsers or devices, sometimes the extra just isn’t needed, makes ADA Compliance more difficult and can be a lot of work to re-do or recover from. It is best to keep things simple!
ADA Compliance – What You Need to Know
All websites, especially those that sell items online are required by law to be ADA Compliant. If your website is not compliant, you may get a warning or face fines until you make your website ADA Compliant. In most cases this isn’t hard to do, however it can be time consuming. Compliance will look for high contrast colors for text legibility, appropriate tags and descriptions are applied to images, buttons and links as well as structural organization and keyboard tab / mouse accessibility to page sections. We will DO OUR BEST to make your site ADA compliant but we cannot guarantee your site will pass compliance testing.
